Follow the instructions and read the tips to learn how to draw a Beyonce portrait, easily and quickly.

Drawing Tips
Beyonce Portrait:

  • It’s important to get your foundational grid drawing right
  • In this Beyonce portrait, the correct placement of her features is important
  • Notice the angle that her head is titled and how that affects the positioning and angle of her eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth
  • Beyonce’s skin is very smooth in this portrait
  • To copy the effect, you can use a tissue or kitchen towel to blend the tones to build a foundation for her skin, then work over them with your pencil to build up the shadows
  • In this reference photo there is a lot of detail to copy in Beyonce’s hair, if you’d prefer to simplify the portrait, rather use longer loose strokes with a soft pencil (2B, 4B)
  • Practice on a different piece of paper until you’re confident in your shading and strokes.
